Deerhunter is an American indie band formed 2001 in Atlanta, Georgia, by Bradford Cox (guitar, vocals), Moses Archuleta (drums, electronics), Lockett Pundt (guitar, vocals), Josh McKay (bass) and Javier Morales (keyboards, saxophone). Founded by Cox and Archuleta, Deerhunter's initial lineup included Colin Mee (guitar) and Justin Bosworth (bass). Deerhunter's music incorporates a wide range of genres, including noise, garage rock, art-rock and pop, with psychedelic touches. They have released eight studio albums but the highlights are their excellent third and fourth albums Microcastle / Weird Era Continued and Halcyon Digest from 2008 and 2010 respectively. Other standouts include Cryptograms, Monomania and Fading Frontier. Band leader Bradford Cox has also released several solo albums and has worked in collaboration with Cate Le Bon, and Karen O from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs in her side-band Karen O and the Kids.
