Agnes Obel is an Indie/Folk musician born in 1980 Copenhagen, Denmark. Her music has both Pop and Classical music influences. She debuted as a solo singer with her first album Philharmonics in 2010, where she wrote, played, sang, recorded, and produces all the material herself. Obel has quoted she is influenced by vocal artists such as Roy Orbison and by the French composers Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel and Erik Satie. Stylistically, she employs her beautiful vocals with simple production and intricate, highly skilled songwriting to express otherworldly soundscapes, without ever being dour or self-indulgent. After the critical and commercial success of her first three albums Philharmonics, Aventine and Citizen of Glass she was signed to the prestigious Deutsche Grammophon and Blue Note records in 2018. Her 2020 release Myopia is also highly recommended. Agnes Obel's songs have appeared on numerous film and TV series including The Mist, Grey's Anatomy, Ringer, Lovesick, Offspring, and The Rain.
