Something Else by The Kinks, released in 1967 and sandwiched between classics Face to Face and Village Green Preservation Society, has been somewhat overlooked, but to true Kinks fans, this one is right up there with those other two illustrious albums. With bassist Pete Quaife coming on board, and Ray Davies taking over production duties, the album veers a little towards a more heavier rock sound, and is studded with some of the Davies brothers' best songs, including "David Watts", "Death of a Clown", "Lazy Old Sun", "Afternoon Tea", and the immortal "Waterloo Sunset". Essential for Kinks fans.
