Atomic Rooster was a British progressive rock band formed 1969, by organist Vincent Crane and drummer Carl Palmer who were formerly members of the Crazy World of Arthur Brown. Vincent Crane was the only constant member, wrote the majority of their material and gave the band their heavy organ sound. John Du Cann joined in 1970 and Carl Palmer left to form ELP. Their first three albums are excellent: Atomic Rooster, Death Walks Behind You and In Hearing of Atomic Rooster.
