Robyn Hitchcock is an English singer-songwriter and guitarist born 1953 in Paddington, London. After reaching prominence in the late 1970s with The Soft Boys, Hitchcock fronted Robyn Hitchcock & The Egyptians, as well as releasing work as a soloist. He is a clever lyricist and his musical style tends towards whimsical pop-psychedelia. Hitchcock has also appeared in several movies including the remake of The Manchurian Candidate. Outstanding albums with The Egyptians include Fegmania!!!, Element of Light and Globe of Frogs. As a soloist Black Snake Diamond Role, I Often Dream of Trains and Eye are excellent.
