Solitude Aeturnus | Artist
Solitude Aeturnus is an American doom metal band formed 1987 in Arlington, Texas by John Perez (guitar, vocals), Brad Kane (drums), Kris Gabehardt (vocals), Tom Martinez (guitar) and Chris Hardin (bass). That lineup which was initially called "Sorrow" lasted only a few years and put out one excellent EP. By the time of their debut album 1991's Into the Depths of Sorrow, the lineup for the band now renamed Sorrow Aeturnus was John Perez (guitar), Edgar Rivera (guitar), Robert Lowe (vocals), Lyle Steadham (bass) and John "Wolf" Covington (drums). Their second album Beyond the Crimson Horizon was cut twelve months later and was critically well received, earning the band performing tours of the US and Europe. Their third album, Through the Darkest Hour, was recorded in England in March 1994 and was the band's best work to date, showing a more simple and heavier direction. After two more somewhat disappointing albums, the band bounced back with the excellent Alone in 2006. The band has been inactive since 2011. Vocalist Robert Lowe side-lined as singer for the influential doom metal band Candlemass between 2007 and 2012.
