Sonny Sharrock | Artist

Warren Harding "Sonny" Sharrock was an American jazz guitarist born 1940 in Ossining, New York. In his early career Sharrock played sessions for Jazz greats such as Pharoah Sanders, Herbie Mann and Miles Davis, before retiring from music. He was coaxed back to music by bassist Bill Laswell and formed the improvisational Jazz band Machine Gun with Peter Brötzmann. One of his best known works is the soundtrack to the Cartoon Network program Space Ghost Coast to Coast. Outstanding albums include Black Woman, Guitar, Seize the Rainbow and Ask the Ages.
