Sun Kil Moon is an American folk rock act founded 2002 in San Francisco, California by vocalist and guitarist Mark Kozelek, formerly of The Red House Painters. Kozelek works with different musicians on a project basis and has collaborated with Bonnie "Prince" Billy and Ben Gibbard from Death Cab For Cutie. Kozelek is obsessed with the sport of Boxing and took his band name from Moon Sun-kil a Filipino boxer. His first album Ghosts of the Great Highway is a masterpiece. Other outstanding albums include April, Admiral Fell Promises, Benji and I Also Want to Die in New Orleans.
