The Cinematic Orchestra is a British nu jazz and electronic music group formed 1999 in London by bandleader Jason Swinscoe. The full lineup is Swincoe (writer, producer), Patrick Carpenter (turntables), Luke Flowers (drums), Tom Chant (saxophone), Nick Ramm (piano), Stuart McCallum (guitar) and Phil France (double bass). The group plays sophisticated nu-jazz in a big band format and is signed to independent record label Ninja Tune. Outstanding releases include Motion, Every Day, Man With the Movie Camera, LateNightTales DJ Mix and Live at the Royal Albert Hall.
