Elvis Costello's Seventh studio album, and one of his best. Imperial Bedroom was released in 1982 and credited to Elvis Costello & The Attractions. This album tends to be overlooked somewhat, coming at the tail end of Elvis' string of brilliant late '70s albums, but Imperial Bedroom is as strong as earlier albums such as Armed Forces, but also shows a maturity in Costello's songwriting style. Numbers like "Tears Before Bedtime" and "Almost Blue" are among his best ever songs.
