Camille Dalmais aka Camille, is a French singer, songwriter and occasional actress born 1978 in Paris. Camille recorded her debut solo album for Virgin records Le sac des filles in 2002, then worked with Nouvelle Vague on their self-titled first album. Camille's second album Le fil was recorded in 2006 in collaboration with English producer MaJiKer. It was this album, which was based on the concept of a string, or thread ("le fil"), played as a drone that persisted throughout the entire course of the album, which garnered strong critical acclaim and gave the singer an international audience. Camille has also performed a cappella classical works and has done further collaborations with Nouvelle Vague on their latter albums. Outstanding albums include Le sac des filles, Le fil, Ilo Veyou, Ouï, and the live album Ilo Lympia.
