Ekatarina Velika, sometimes referred to as EKV, was a Serbian and Yugoslav rock band formed 1982 in Belgrade by core members singer and guitarist Milan Mladenović, keyboardist Margita Stefanović and bassist Bojan Pečar. The band was previously called Katerina II but changed their name upon the departure of former guitarist Dragomir Mihajlović. They became one of the most successful and influential Yugoslav music acts, starting out with a post-punk style and moving increasingly towards alternative rock in the '90s. EKV delivered seven excellent studio albums before disbanding in 1994 after the death of frontman Milan Mladenović. Standout albums include S' vetrom uz lice, Ljubav, Samo par godina za nas and Dum Dum.
