Catherine Wheel was an English alternative rock band formed 1990 in Great Yarmouth, UK, by Rob Dickinson (vocals, guitar), Brian Futter (guitar), Neil Sims (drums) and David Hawes (bass). The band played a style of dream-pop and are considered part of the shoegaze scene, characterized by extensive use of guitar feedback and droning washes of noise. They released five studio albums of which Ferment ('92), Chrome ('93), and Adam and Eve ('97) are outstanding. After their breakup in 2000 Dickenson pursued a solo career and Futter and Sims formed the band 50ft Monster, and released one excellent album Life After Debt in 2007.
