Allen Ginsberg was an American poet, philosopher, writer, and activist born 1926 at Newark, New Jersey, and died 1997 East Village, NYC. He is considered to be one of the leading figures of the Beat Generation during the 1950s and the counterculture movement that followed. In Jack Kerouac's classic "On The Road" Ginsberg's character is named Carlo Marx. He recorded Jazz/Blues vocalising and poetry readings, the most famous is Howl from 1959.
