Animal Collective | Artist

Animal Collective is an American experimental pop band formed 2003 in Baltimore, Maryland. Its members are Avey Tare, Panda Bear, Deakin, and Geologist. Their music incorporates studio experimentation, vocal harmonies and ambient drone effects. The period 2000-09 was their creative peak, when they released five masterpiece albums of electronic neo-psych: Spirt They're Gone Spirit They've Vansished, Sung Songs, Feels, Strawberry Jam and Merriweather Post Pavilion. The 2018 release Tangerine Reef Live (cassette only) is also excellent. The individual members also release solo work under their own names.
