Beck Hansen, better known as simply "Beck" is an American Indie musician born 1970 in Los Angeles California. He rose to fame in the early 1990s with his experimental lo-fi style and became known for mixing genre styles including rock, folk, psych, hip-hop and noise music. Beck is also a visual artist and has collaborated with his artist Grandfather Al Hansen who was a pioneer of the avant-garde Fluxus movement. Beck is an eclectic artist whose output is uneven, Odelay from 1996 and Sea Change from 2002 are excellent albums. Other standouts include Mellow Gold and Mutations.
