Bush Tetras | Artist
Bush Tetras is an American post-punk band formed 1979 in New York City, by Cynthia Sley (vocals), Pat Place (guitar), Laura Kennedy (bass) and Dee Pop (drums). Place was previously with James Chance & The Contortions. The band is best known for the 1980 song "Too Many Creeps", which exemplified their sound of "jagged rhythms, slicing guitars, and sniping vocals". Although they did not achieve mainstream success, the Bush Tetras were influential and popular in the Manhattan club scene and college radio in the early 1980s. Outstanding releases include Beauty Lies, Happy, the EP Rituals and Boom in the Night compilation. Also highly recommended is the 2021 triple LP compilation release Rhythm and Paranoia: The Best of Bush Tetras.
