Kevin Paul Godfrey aka Epic Soundtracks was a British musician born 1959 in Croydon, Surrey. He and his brother Adrian Nicholas Godfrey aka Nikki Sudden, were the founders of influential Art-Punk/Post-Punk band Swell Maps, which existed 1972-80. Soundtracks later played drums for Crime & the City Solution and These Immortal Souls, alongside Rowland S Howard in both bands. In 1987 he released the album I Knew Buffalo Bill, which was a collaboration between Soundtracks, Rowland S Howard, Nikki Sudden and Jeffrey Lee Pierce from The Gun Club and Jeremy Gluck from The Barracudas. In 1992, Soundtracks focussed on his songwriting and solo career, releasing the album Rise Above, followed by the excellent Sleeping Star in 1994. He released two more studio albums before passing away in 1997. Standout albums include Rise Above and Sleeping Star, plus the posthumous releases Everything is Temporary and Good Things. Notable fans of Soundtracks' solo work include Evan Dando of the Lemonheads, Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth and Dave Graney.
