Lost Sounds was an American garage rock band formed 1999 in Memphis, Tennessee, by Rich Crook (drums), Patrick Jordan (bass), Jay Reatard (synth, guitar, vocals) and Alicja Trout (synth, guitar, vocals). Reatard and Trout were previously together in the band Destruction Unit. Their synth-heavy sound was characterised Trout's use of her collection of analog keyboards carried over from her previous group The Clears. This gave Lost Sounds a unique sound of new wave synths and mangled guitars with a dark wave influence. The band split in 2005 leaving five studio albums and one posthumous archival release. Outstanding albums include Memphis is Dead, Black-Wave, Rats Brains and Microchips and Lost Lost (archival).
