Piano Magic was an English art-rock musical collective formed 1996 in London by Glen Johnson, Dominic Chennell, and Dick Rance. Many other musicians added to the core group for recordings and performances, among them was John A Rivers, producer of the bands Dead Can Dance and Felt. The band's sound has been described as ambient pop, post-rock, indietronica, dark wave and "arty baroque pop". They were also likened in style to The Durutti Column and This Mortal Coil. The band recorded Twelve studio albums, many of them excellent. Outstanding albums include Low Birth Weight, Artists' Rifles, The Troubled Sleep of Piano Magic and Disaffected.
