Tenhi is a Finnish neofolk band formed 1996 by core duo Tyko Saarikko and Ilmari Issakainen. Between them they write the material, sing, and play a vast array of instruments including piano, harmonium, synth, guitar, bass, drums, didgeridoo, jew's harp and udu. For performances and recordings they enlist the support of a designated group of support musicians. The band plays a style of dark nordic folk music that explores brooding, esoteric atmospheres. All their albums to-date are outstanding including: Kauan, Väre, Maaäet, Saivo, Airut:Aamujen and The Collected Works compilation.
