The Revolutionaries is a Jamaican reggae band formed 1975 in Kingston as the house band of Channel One studios owned by Joseph Hoo Kim. It is an all-star band including Sly Dunbar, Robbie Shakespeare, Tommy McCook, Bobby Ellis, Vin Gordon, and many other greats of reggae. The band made many fine albums under their own name as well as backing artists such as Black Uhuru, Culture, The Mighty Diamonds, Tapper Zukie, Gregory Isaacs and Serge Gainsbourg. Outstanding albums include Vital Dub Well Charged, Earthquake Dub, Black Ash Dub and At Channel 1:Dub Plate Specials.
