Supertramp "Breakfast in America" (1979)

LP (NEW) - Vinyl, A&M Records, US, 2008, 75021 3708 1, 180g Vinyl, Reissue

Breakfast in America is Supertramp's Sixth studio album, released in 1979. Supertramp were at their creative peak from the mid '70s through the early '80s releasing a string of excellent albums, starting with Crime of the Century, then Crisis? What Crisis?, Even in the Quietest Moments, Breakfast in America and Paris (live). After that impressive run, their work lost some of it's prog rock inventiveness and became somewhat MOR. But Breakfast in America, which featured their mega-hit "The Logical Song", sees the UK band right at the top of their game with an album many regard as being superior to their earlier classic Crime of the Century. In 1980, Breakfast in America won a Grammy Award for Best Engineered Non-Classical Recording, and a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year. Needless to say the recording sound quality is superb.
