The Sonics "Introducing The Sonics" (1966)

LP (NEW) - Vinyl, Beatrocket, US, 1998, BR 114, 090771011411, Reissue

Introducing The Sonics is the Second studio album by legendary Tacoma-based garage rockers The Sonics, originally released in 1966 on the Jerden label. This albums followed their classic debut album Here Are The Sonics!!! which is regarded as one of the greatest garage/proto-punk records of all time. The Sonics are basically the missing link between Little Richard and Iggy Pop; a handful of punks from the Pacific Northwest who picked up their instruments and, with seemingly little interest in reaching any kind of mass audience, devoted themselves to playing the loudest, most ferocious rock & roll they possibly could. In their covers of Motown and 50s rock & roll, they more than matched their predecessors while putting their British contemporaries to absolute shame. Their originals, wild tales of witches, motorcycles and drinking strychnine, would point the way for the Stooges, MC5 and everything that followed. On Introducing The Sonics we get more of their aggressive period garage rock including two killer singles "The Witch" and "Psycho".
