Plaid | Artist

Plaid is an English electronic music duo formed 1988 in London by Andy Turner and Ed Handley. They were founding members of ambient techno band The Black Dog and used many other names, such as Atypic and Balil, before settling on Plaid. Their music is described as IDM or "post-techno". As well as their own material, Plaid have done extensive remix work for other artists, including Red Snapper, Björk and Goldfrapp. Plaid composed and performed the excellent original score to Michael Arias' 2006 anime film Tekkonkinkreet. Other outstanding albums include Not for Threes, Double Figure and 2019's Polymer.
