Radio Massacre International is a British Electronic Kosmiche band formed 1979 in London by Steve Dinsdale (keyboards, electronics, drums), Duncan Goddard (keyboards, electronics, bass), and Gary Houghton (guitar, keyboards). They specialize in improvisational experimental electronic music, utilising vintage mellotron, synthesizers and sampled sounds alongside electric guitar. Their music is ambient/new age "spacerock" akin to Berlin School bands such as Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze. The trio originally met in school and formed the band DAS which recorded 12 albums of which only one was released. Changing their name to Radio Massacre International in 1979 they added guitar to their previous keyboards-only sound, and embarked on a prolific recording career which has to-date produced 44 studio albums of consistently high standard. Standout albums include Frozen North, Organ Harvest, The God of Electricity, Emissaries, Septentrional, and Rain Fall in Grey. The band occasionally performs with ex-Can frontman Damo Suzuki, and they perform annually at the UK National Space Centre in Leicester, alongside fellow electronic artist Ian Boddy.
