Saxon is an English heavy metal band formed 1977 in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. They were one of the leaders of the new wave of British heavy metal NWOBM. Original members were Biff Byford, Paul Quinn, Graham Oliver, Steve Dawson and Pete Gill. Outstanding albums include Wheels of Steel, Strong Arm of the Law, Denim and Leather and Heavy Metal Thunder.
