These New Puritans | Artist

These New Puritans is an English band formed 2006 in Southend-on-Sea, UK, by twin brothers Jack Barnett (vocals, guitar, programming) and George Barnett (percussion, programming), Thomas Hein (bass, sampler, vocals) and Sophie Sleigh-Johnson (synthesizer, keyboards). Hein left the band in 2016 and Sleigh-Johnson left in 2010. The band was initially influenced by hip-hop and the electronic sounds of Aphex Twin. Their sound has evolved to incorporate jazz and orchestral influences as well as art/dance performance works. Outstanding releases include Field of Reeds, Inside the Rose and Live at the Barbican.
