Popol Vuh | Artist
Popol Vuh was a German electronic avant-garde band founded 1969 in Munich by pianist and keyboardist Florian Fricke together with Holger Trülzsch, Frank Fiedler and Bettina Fricke. They were one of the earliest exponents of "Space Music" using Moog synthesisers with ethnic percussion treatments. They are well know for their atmospheric soundtracks to Werner Herzog films such as Aguirre the Wrath of God, Nosferatu and Fitzcarraldo. Other outstanding albums include In den Gärten Pharaos, Hosianna Mantra and Letzte Tage Letzte Nächte.
