Azam Ali is an Iranian singer and musician born 1970 in Tehran. Ali formed alternative World music group VAS and plays a a duo with her husband in Persian folk duo Niyaz. She is an accomplished player of the santour and sings in Persian and English languages. Outstanding releases include her solo album Lamentation of Swans: A Journey Towards Silence, the Niyaz albums Niyaz and Nine Heavens, and the VAS album In The Garden of Souls.
