Sir George Ivan Morrison OBE is a Northern Irish singer-songwriter, instrumentalist and record producer born 1945 in Bloomfield, Belfast. As a teenager he began playing in Irish Showbands then became singer in R&B band Them. His art combines Soul, Rock and Jazz styles with poetic lyrics and Irish-Celtic spirituality. Outstanding albums include Astral Weeks, Moondance, St Dominics Preview, Veedon Fleece and the live album It's Too Late to Stop Now.
