John Cale "Helen of Troy" (1975

LP (NEW) - Vinyl, Wax Cathedral, US, 2015, MELT-014, Gatefold Sleeve, Reissue

John Cale's Seventh studio album Helen of Troy, released in 1975, came at the end of a string of avant-garde rock masterpieces Cale released in the early '70s namely, Paris 1919, Fear, Slow Dazzle, and Helen of Troy. With Chris Spedding providing his characteristic guitar backing, along with a powerhouse rhythm section, Cale enlisted the talents of Brian Eno and Phil Collins to help him make this grandiose art-rock masterpiece. Each track has basically a rock music template, however it wouldn't be a John Cale album with a slight avant-garde twist, plus brainy lyrics. Cale continues to create great music Fifty years after he left the Velvet Underground, and this is one of his essential mid-period albums.
