King Tubby "Dub From the Roots" (1975)

LP (NEW) - Vinyl, Jamaican Recordings, UK, 2010, JRLP036, 5060135760458, Reissue

Dub From the Roots is the first dub album from King Tubby, originally released 1975 in Jamaica on the Total Sounds label. Tubby did three original dub albums, Dub From the Roots, The Roots of Dub and Brass Rockers, plus a fourth Shalom Dub where he remixed versions of old Singles. King Tubby and Bunny 'Striker' Lee are intertwined in the birth of Dub music. Tubby, with his vast knowledge of electronics, and Bunny's vast catalogue of rhythms would lay down the foundations of dub music. With Tubby at the controls of his four track console, together with musicians such as Carlton Barrett (drums), Robbie Shakespeare (bass), Earl 'Chinna' Smith (guitar) and Augustus Pablo (keyboards), Dub From the Roots is one of the greatest dub albums to come out of Jamaica.
