Cream "Disraeli Gears"

LP (NEW) - Vinyl, Polydor, Europe, 2015, 535 484-3, 0600753548431, 180g Vinyl, Reissue

The iconic sleeve art for Disraeli Gears was created by Australian pop artist Martin Sharp. The first UK issue was laminated front and back to enhance the fluorescent day-glo colours of the artwork.

The second album by Cream released in 1967 from which two singles were released; "Strange Brew" and "Sunshine of Your Love". The album gained the band strong attention in the USA, where it reached #4 in the US Charts in 1968. It was inducted into the Grammy Hall Of Fame in 1999 and ranked 112 in Rolling Stone magazine's '500 Greatest Albums Of All Time'. Recorded in the USA at Atlantic Studios and produced by Felix Pappalardi, there is much division between hardcore followers as to the mono works being 'truer' to 'the sound of the times' and the quality of pressings between those of early ATCO (multi colour label) and UK Reaction issues.
