Clogs is an instrumental ensemble formed 2000 in New Haven, Connecticut by Bryce Dessner and Padma Newsome. Dresner is also a member of band The National, and Newsome was formerly a concert violinist with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. The duo met while studying at Yale School of Music. Clogs plays modern classical music that draws from freeform jam sessions which are then arranged and scored as formal pieces. The band has released five studio albums to-date. Outstanding releases include Thom's Night Out, Stick Music, Lantern and The Creatures in the Garden of Lady Walton.
