Deafheaven is an American post-metal band formed 2010 in San Francisco, California, by singer George Clarke and guitarist Kerry McCoy. The duo recorded and self-released a demo album then recruited three new members, Derek Prine (bass), Nick Bassett (guitar) and Trevor Deschryver (drums). Now as a five-piece and contracted to Deathwish Inc. the band released their debut album Roads to Judah in 2011, which attracted positive reviews. Rolling Stone described Deafheaven's musical style as a "boundary-pushing blend of black metal, shoegaze and post-rock". Their second album Sunbather was critically acclaimed and ranked at 130 on the Billboard album chart for 2013. The band has released two further albums, 2015's New Bermuda and Ordinary Corrupt Human Love in 2018. From the last album, the single "Honeycomb" was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance.
