Clock DVA is an English industrial, post-punk and EBM group formed 1978 in Sheffield, UK, by Adolphus "Adi" Newton and Steven "Judd" Turner. Newton had previously worked with members of Cabaret Voltaire and with Martyn Ware in a band called The Future. Ware would go on to form The Human League and Heaven 17. Newton and Turner were joined by David J. Hammond (guitar), Roger Quail (drums) and Charlie Collins (saxophone, clarinet). Clock DVA's sound was experimental electronic music involving treated tape loops and synthesizers such as the EMS Synthi E. They became associated with the industrial genre alongside bands such as Cabaret Voltaire and Throbbing Gristle. Their first album to gain any mainstream awareness was 1981's Thirst, which extended their sound in avant-garde jazz directions. They followed this with three consistently good albums; Advantage, Buried Dreams and Man-Amplified, which earned them a cult audience. The excellent 2015 archival album Horology 2 - Clockdva, The Future & Radiophonic Dvations and the 1994 compilation Collective are both highly recommended.
