Creation Rebel was a UK dub group formed 1977 in London by Crucial Tony (guitar), Clifton Morrison (keyboards), Doctor Pablo (Melodica), Eric Clarke (drums) and Clinton Jack (bass). Clarke and Jack lasted only a short time and were replaced by various other bass/drums players. They originally formed as the backing group for Prince Far-I under producer Adrian Sherwood. Creation Rebel worked with Sherwood from 1977-80 and released eight studio albums including the excellent Dub From Creation ('78), Rebel Vibrations ('79), Starship Africa ('80) and Psychotic Jonkanoo ('81). The band's sci-fi infused dub has been described as "languorous, funky, spacey, and totally intoxicating". Guitarist Crucial Tony went on to play with dub specialists African Head Charge, Dub Syndicate, The New Age Steppers and dub "super collective" Singers & Players.
