Dan Hicks & His Hot Licks was an American bluegrass-rock band formed 1968 in San Francisco by frontman Dan Hicks who was previously in Bay Area psych rock band The Charlatans. The original Hot Licks lineup included Hicks, David LaFlamme from It's a Beautiful Day, John Weber, Jaime Leopold and singers Naomi Ruth Eisenberg and Maryann Price. The band's idiosyncratic style combined elements of cowboy folk, jazz, country, swing and bluegrass music. Outstanding albums include Original Recordings, Striking it Rich, Last Train to Hicksville and the live album Where's The Money?
