Angela Tremble aka Deborah Harry is an American singer, songwriter, model and actress born 1945 in Miami, Florida. She is known as the lead singer of the new wave band Blondie and has had a successful solo career. After high school Harry moved to New York City where, in support of her fledgling music career, she worked various jobs including secretary at BBC Radio, Playboy Bunny, go-go Dancer, and waitress at Max's Kansas City. Her first music gig was as the backup singer for unknown psychedelic band The Wind in the Willows. From there she joined The Stilletos where she formed a relationship with future Blondie bandmate Chris Stein. Harry and Stein went on to form Blondie who quickly became regulars at Max's Kansas City and CBGB in New York City. As the front-woman for Blondie Harry became a world-wide star and released many excellent albums. Her first solo album, 1981's Kookoo which was produced by Nile Rogers from Chic and featured a striking cover image by Swiss artist H.R. Giger. Harry went on to release five studio albums with a musical style which echoed Blondie's new wave sound but also incorporated synth-pop and disco elements. Standout albums include KooKoo, Rockbird, Def Dumb & Blonde and Debravation. Harry also performs with New York avant-garde jazz group, The Jazz Passengers.
