Deepchord | Artist

Rod Modell aka Deepchord is an electronic music producer born 1969 in Port Huron, Michigan. Modell works under multiple aliases and has a variety of collaborative projects, all of which release outstanding recordings. The musical style of Deepchord is similar to both the minimal Berlin sound of artists like Basic Channel and the techno tradition of Detroit. Deepchord Presents Echospace is a collaboration with Stephen Hitchell which has released several excellent albums including The Coldest Season, Liumin, the soundtrack The Silent World, and Live in Detroit (Ghost in the Sound). The Modell-Hitchell duo also work under the name cv313 which has the superb Echospace [Detroit] Presents: "Altering Illusions" [Chapter One] and Analogue Oceans to its credit. Modell also collaborates with Chris Troy under the moniker Waveform Transmissions, who released the excellent V 2.0-2.9 album. Modell is the founder of Detroit-based record label Echospace.
