Dogs was a French rock band formed 1973 in Rouen, by Dominique Laboubée (vocals, guitar), Paul Pechenaert (guitar, vocals), François Camuzeaux (bass) and Michel Gross (drums). The band underwent many lineup changes over the course of their career however Laboubée remained the leader throughout until he passed away in 2002. The band played a blend of punk infused new wave and have been described as a "treasured cult band" in their home country. Their first releases were two excellent EPs in 1978 Charlie Was a Good Boy and Go Where You Want to Go, which immediately attracted them a cult fan base. Their debut album Different from 1979 was well reviewed and further strengthened their popularity. In total they released ten studio albums culminating in Short, Fast and Tight from 2001. Standout releases include the early EPs, their first four albums: Different, Walking Shadows, Too Much Class for the Neighbourhood, Legendary Lovers, and their final release Short Fast and Tight.
