Fairfield Parlour | Artist

Fairfield Parlour was an English psychedelic rock band formed 1967 in London by Peter Daltrey (vocals, keyboards), Eddie Pumer (guitar), Steve Clark (bass) and Danny Bridgman (drums). The foursome were previously called Kaleidoscope and changed their name to Fairfield Parlour in 1968 due to a clash with the US psychedelic band of the same name. The band's sound combined the elements of pop, psychedelia and early prog-rock. As Kaleidoscope they released two superb albums, Tangerine Dream in 1967 and Faintly Blowing in 1969. There was also an excellent 1991 archival release named White Faced Lady credited to Kaleidoscope. As Fairfield Parlour, they released only one album, the equally excellent From Home to Home, in 1970 on the Vertigo label. While the band was getting ready to release Home to Home, they were asked to record the theme tune for the upcoming Isle of Wight Festival. The single "Let the World Wash in" got released a week after the release of the album under the band name I Luv Wight, but they appeared on the festival bill as Fairfield Parlour.
