Ingram Douglass Marshall is an American minimalist composer and musician born 1942 in Mount Vernon, New York. A former student of Vladimir Ussachevsky and Morton Subotnick, Marshall creates electroacoustic works using electronics, tape delay and traditional woodwind instruments. His work has been described as "suspended layers of sound swirling in a haze". He has written work for Kronos Quartet and the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. Outstanding albums include The Fragility Cycles, Fog Tropes, Alcatraz and Evensongs.
