Interpol "Turn on the Bright Lights" (2002)

LP (NEW) - Vinyl, Matador, US, 2014, OLE 545-0, 0744861054504, Reissue, Incl. Digital Download

Turn On the Bright Lights is the debut from New York post-punk revivalists Interpol. The 2002 release serves as an excellent debut from a band which has a clear vision for their sound, to which they pursue still today. The clean, atmospheric production shows its influences on its sleeve (Joy Division), but brings new life to the sound. Any song on the album is a perfect example of this but "NYC" and "Roland" are standouts. The album gained immediate critical success and launched the band into the New American Rock wave in the early 2000s alongside The Strokes, The Killers and Arctic Monkeys. The album continues to earn Interpol fans and is highly recommended for any Rock or Joy Division fans.
