Syrian-Armenian-American producer and singer/songwriter KÁRYYN blends her heritage with elements of classical, pop and electronic music. The Quanta Series is a compilation of Singles recorded over 7 years, starting in 2011, with the death of two of KÁRYYN's friends in Aleppo. The Syrian producer/composer's electronic pop sound moves between somber and ecstatic extremes, with echos of the likes of Holly Herndon and Bjork with some hints of Kate Bush and Zola Jesus. She is at her best when she channels her Armenian musical roots, which infuse the music with a spiritual quality. The vinyl album, released on Mute, has tracks on three sides, and is expertly produced with an intimate engaging sound. This is her first and, as of Jan 2020, only long player release.
