Memphis Slim | Artist
John Len Chatman aka Memphis Slim was an American blues pianist, singer, and composer born 1915 in Memphis, Tennessee. He led a series of "Jump Blues" bands and worked frequently with fellow bluesman Willie Dixon. A song he cut in 1947, "Every Day I Have the Blues", has become a blues standard, recorded by many other artists. Outstanding albums include The Real Boogie Woogie, Willie's Blues, All Kinds of Blues and Memphis Heat. The latter was recorded with Canned Heat and The Memphis Horns.
