Michael George Campbell aka Mikey Dread, was a Jamaican reggae singer, producer, and broadcaster born 1954 in Port Antonio, Jamaica. Starting out he worked with Lee Scratch Perry and Joe Gibbs and was an engineer at Treasure Isle studio. He successfully crossed-over to audiences outside Jamaica and collaborated with acts such as The Clash, UB40 and Adrian Sherwood. In the '90's Mikey moved to the USA, completed University studies and ran the Caribbean Satellite Network TV station in Miami. Outstanding albums include African Anthem, Dread at the Controls and World War III.
