Nick Castro and his newly formed accompanying band the Young Elders have clearly got a deep-seated love for late 60s early 70s British folk music, particularly the works of Pentangle and Fairport Convention. Castro sounds a bit ‘acid folk’ but although he’s not afraid to wear his influences on his sleeve he can still write a good tune – ‘One I Love’ for instance is a beautiful ‘Scarborough Fair’-lite folk ditty bound to please Espers fans everywhere.
