Sounds in the Night is Seventh album issued by lounge music exotica composer Russell Garcia. Originally released in 1957 on the Bethlehem label and credited to Russ Garcia, his Vocal Choir and Orchestra, this album captures all the style and weirdness of late '50s American lounge music. Russ was a prolific composer and arranger of movie soundtracks and lounge/exotica music having worked on TV series such as Rawhide and Laredo, as well as many Walt Disney films. The music on this album, while definitely eerily weird, is also brilliantly arranged and contains excellent orchestration and brilliant saxophone interludes. Put this album on at your next cocktail party and you'll be swinging the night away.
